{TCI} Day 4 - Barefoot on the beach

my8a

I didn't intend to dedicate an entire post to the wedding but there were too many photos to fit Day 4 into one post.  Only one Turks & Caicos post left after this one.  I have to say that this wedding was probably the best one I've attended.  The location definitely helped sway my opinion, in addition to the food, casualness and overall vibe.   Rich's niece was the beautiful bride and I know when you read "niece" you're probably thinking she's 12 years old.  Nope, she's an adult in her thirties.

The wedding invitation informed us that the ceremony and reception would be barefoot on the beach and that was 100% accurate.

Chairs were set up right on the beach for the guests (about 80 of us) as were the tents for the reception.  The beach is public so there were some gawkers during the ceremony, including a small boat that practically came up on shore so the occupants could take photos paparazzi style with their iPhones.  The bride and groom did look like they could be a celebrity couple.  The catering company had these big grills set up and cooked the food right as it was being served.  That meal was soooooo incredibly delicious.  Grilled shrimp - need I say more.  And baked potatoes.  Any meal that serves potatoes is automatically on my yes, please list.

Because I spend so much time inside, I'm always squinting when outdoors.

Pictures of people you may or may not know.

I was trying to think if I'd ever taken silhouette on the beach photos prior to this trip and I don't think I have.  I think I need some practice.  I realize now that the light wasn't right - the sun was still too high and there was too much light and I needed to frame it differently.  Always a learning experience.

And then there was the sunset, which was spectacular and the best one out of the four nights we were down there.

Love the photos! I also love your maxi dress (or is it a skirt and top?). It looks amazing on you!

Thanks!

Farah - that's a maxi dress from Target. It was the only dress I could find (in my price range) so I bought three of them in different patterns.
