I've only ever lived in New England so when I mentioned having Hoodsie cups, or Hoodsies as we typically call them, at the girls' birthday party, it didn't even cross my mind that folks out there wouldn't know what I was talking about. Allow me to introduce Hoodsies...
Chocolate + vanilla ice cream. They are sold in 12 packs and while we normally don't buy them because they're not very economical, they are extremely convenient for parties. And very delicious.

what a really great idea, esp for those of us who have difficulty choosing :)
Love me some hoodsie cups!!! Lived in New England all my life-(Maine) and I am soo surprised when people do not know what they are! I have been following your blog for awhile. Love your custom outfits for your girls. You need an Etsy shop!!! :)
Love these! I have only lived in New England as well so I assumed that everyone knew what these were!
Do you use the wooden spoons too?
Hoodies are the epitome of childhood birthday parties! Is it true they don't come with wooden spoons anymore? I loved those.
Hold up?!? People don't know what a Hoodsie cup is??? I guess I'm a sheltered New England girl, I had no idea lol
We have those here in NY too, just not hood brand. Hershey's brand same thing although.
I've never heard of them, but I'm from the south. We do have ice cream like that in the cups, but in different brands. I think we go all creative and call them "ice cream in cups." :)
brings me back to kindergarten! I had those wooden spoons, too!
No wooden spoons. Rich showed me how to fold the cover and use it as a scoop but I'm too OCD for that.
LOL "ice cream in cups"
No esty shop in the near future for me but thank you. Maybe some day.
LOVE them.. also grew up in new england and have had my share as my kids have.. i just told my kids the other day how we folded the top to eat them. they looked at me like I may be crazy. but hey it worked!
I remember growing up in the city of Boston, they (not sure who "they" were) would give Hoodsies out free, on the 4th of July. We just called them Hoodsies and they always had the wooden spoon, but if for some reason you didn't get a spoon, we folded the cover (survival). The container still looks the same. I think I will buy some for the 4th, start a new tradition this year. Thanks for the memories.

My Dad always buys Hoodsies when I come back to MA to visit. People around here have no clue what they are!
