What's going on here...

I've been sick for the past two weeks and it has just been absolutely draining. Today, I finally feel like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. My voice has been messed up the entire time but, thankfully, it never turned into anything other than a monster cold. And I'm even more thankful that no one else caught it. (Yeah, remember how Grammy ended up in the hospital with pneumonia last April?)

Rich and I stumbled upon Being Elmo this week and I have to say that I have a new respect for Elmo now. Wow, what a fantastic story. (And yes, we both cried.)

Whenever we have a nice day weather-wise, I think about how nice it would be to just sit outside in the warm sun and read a book. That's not going to happen anytime soon but I realize that someday, I will have all the time in the world to read (and that's kind of an odd feeling.)

Speaking of books, I haven't read many since the girls' birth, which is completely out character for me. The free wifi has been sketchy on the train rides home (and the trains have been crowded) so I threw a book from the stack on my bedroom floor into my bag Sunday night. It feels good to be reading even if it is only on the train.

We booked our Disney vacation and I've made all but one of our dining reservations. It feels good to have that monkey off of my back but now I need to get sewing. I am currently working on a Summer Park Princess dress (Em helped with the name.)

The girls' big birthday party is this weekend and they all have mentioned wearing their outfits from last year. Unfortunately, those shirts were size 3T and had been worn the year before and when I heard them talking about wearing those shirts again, I hid them in the basement. So I had to go buy new cupcake shirts, which were easy to find at The Children's Place. There was only one style and color though and when I pulled them out of the shopping bag, Anna flipped out because:
  1. She wanted to go to the store and pick out the shirt herself.
  2. She doesn't like the color purple.
  3. She doesn't want to wear the same shirt as sissies.
My response was, "Do you think there's a Cupcake Shirt Shop? There isn't. This is all there is."

In case you are wondering, five year olds are just as dramatic as four year olds.

I have heard from other moms that five-year-old girls can go through a pre-teen phase. Apparently they snap out of it by the time they turn six. My girls are only 10 weeks old, but I told my husband I'm moving to Hawaii when they turn five and then again when they are teens.

I can't wait to hear more about your Disney trip!
