My brother-in-law and sister-in-law live on a "lake" and last Saturday afternoon, we were invited over for a boat ride and dinner with some family. As it turns out, the body of water is too small to be a lake and is officially a pond. That didn't really seem to matter to the girls though.
Here's Allie being goofy with her sunglasses on the drive there.
This is what happens when I have my camera in hand and say, "Why don't you walk down to the water together," to the girls. Look at Allie's little "sticking out my lower jaw" smile.
We changed the girls into their bathing suits so that we could all head out to a little island beach. The girls loved both the boat ride and swimming. They were never afraid and really soaked up the newness of it all. When we returned back to the house for dinner, the girls kept asking when we could go on the boat again.
We even had yummy smores (aka snores and smorgs) for dessert!
I do have to say that one of the funniest comments from the girls was about sharks. They asked if there were sharks in the lake. I told them no. Then Allie starting saying, "If there is a shark, do you have to kick to get away from it? Is that what you do, Mommy?" Ahhhhh.... I didn't quite know how to respond to that one.

The "mud in the hands" shot is so awesome.
Pretty sure I have the same brown sunglasses one of the girls are wearing.
I live in Utah and I will tell you here anything that can float a boat is a LAKE! LOL ;)
Hi! This is my first time commenting!I think you are a great mom. Your girls are all extremely beautiful. I do have to ask, do you favor one triplet over the others? Sometimes I feel mothers can't help the way they feel towards their children.

Adorable, and I love the shot with the sand/mud in the hands!
Awesome life jackets for the kiddos too! I didn't know that they made them like that now - someone got smart and has probably done really well.
Looks like a great time!
Looks like a lake to me! How blessed you all are to have family in such different environments. And how lucky you are that they invite you out to share their worlds. Priceless memories are being made.
Oh my gosh, your girls are beautiful! I just came across your blog and I love them! Great pictures too. Bravo mom!
