Out of the mouths of babes

I should probably make this a weekly feature as the girls tend to make some of the funniest statements. In my opinion, anyway.

-----------

Mommy: "Allie, what are you going to ask Santa for Christmas?"

Allie: "A guy."

Mommy: "A guy?"

Allie: "A guy."

Mommy: "Okay. And what is this guy going to do?"

Allie: "He's gonna run away."

-----------

Allie: "Anna's being naive."

Mommy: "What?"

Allie: "Anna's being naive."

Mommy: "Naive? Did Daddy teach you that word?"

Allie: "No. Anna's bringing a leaf."

Mommy: "Ooooooooh. Sorry, I didn't understand what you were saying!"

----------

Rich set up the girls' Little People nativity set the other day. Em brought baby Jesus over to me and said, "Mommy, it's baby Jesus. She's in her car seat."

----------

The girls call coasters (the things you place under your drinks) books. I assume it is because they have some little books that are about the same size. Whenever they get their hands on one in the family room they will say that it is Mommy's book. I had Anna and Em in the guest room (aka Grammy's room) the other night. Em was on the bed so I could wrangle her into her sleepsack while Anna wandered around. She picked up a coaster on the table next to the bed and said, "Look, it's Grammy's book. Grammy's dirty book." I just about fell over laughing. She was calling it dirty because it has a brown, antique finish it.

Ok, I completely agree! You should make this a regular feature! As a kindergarten teacher, the best part of the job was definitely the things the kids would say! I cannot WAIT for my triplets to start talking for this reason! Please keep it up! Your girls are beautiful!
