Ki You

"I want to watch Ki You."

This is what Em said to me {repeatedly} in that space of time Friday night after I arrive home from work but before the girls go to bed.

I had no idea what she was referring to.

"Color you?"

"No, Ki You."

Okay, I still had no idea.

Then Anna jumped in. "I want to watch Ki You, Mommy."

And then Allie, "Ki You."

I do have to say that because the girls are identical, they sometimes say words or phrases exactly the same. Sometimes not, though. Allie, for example, has a tendency to drop the "S" if it is at the beginning of the word. "The itsy bitsy pider climbed up the water pout." I digress.

Grammy had just left and I didn't want to bother her.

I turned on a Sesame Street episode and they flipped out. "NO! KI YOU!"

I was inundated with Ki You requests on Saturday morning so I decided to pursue further questioning before bothering Grammy. I guess it somewhat bothered me that my girls would like something and I would have no idea what they were talking about. I wanted to figure it out on my own.

"Is Elmo in this Ki You?"

"NO."

"Is it on Sesame Street?"

"NO."

"Is it on t.v. or here {pointing to stack of DVDs}?"

"T.V."

"Does it come on before Sesame Street?" Grammy does let the girls watch the aired (versus On Demand) Sesame Street at 10:00 each day.

"NO."

"Does it come on after Sesame Street?"

"Yes."

I went to On Demand and there it was. Caillou. It sounded like Ki You so I decided to give it a shot. When I opened the next screen, I saw two check marks, which indicated that Grammy had let them watch it earlier in the week. I picked an episode and as soon as it started to play, the girls said, "Ki You, Mommy."

At least they are interested in something besides Barney.

Ooh! I had a proud moment when I figured it out before the end of the post. Glad you figured it out too!

LOL... I immediately knew it was Caillou. The girls like it too, but watch very little of it since we're on the Cinderella/ Elmo potty kick. :P

Oh Goodness. I can't believe I didn't figure it out until you said what it was. My daughters are IN LOVE with Caillou. Seriously, in love. When he comes on, it's like it's the 60's again and the Beatles have appeared in front of a thousand teenagers. I'm not joking - they go NUTS for Caillou. They ask for him all day long!

He's cute enough, I suppose, and he does provide a break for us from Sesame & Barney & Disney movies. :)
