Super Stars

I had to give Em a real time out tonight. A real time out means that I carried her, kicking and screaming, upstairs and placed her in her crib. And then I went downstairs to deal with Anna, who was hysterical that Em was upstairs and not in the playroom with her.

The reason for the time-out? Well, Em can jump now. And by jump, I mean that her feet leave the ground. She climbed up on the arm of the couch and was jumping up there. Not jumping from the arm onto the couch but jumping ON the arm of the couch. I took her down and gave her a warning. She did it again at which point she was brought up stairs immediately. Mommy was not messing around.

I really wish they could understand that I don't want them to hurt themselves. That my heart aches with the thought of something happening to one of them. I know, I know. This is something that they will not fully comprehend until they have children of their own.

You see, Em was just so gosh darn cute tonight. All of the girls were but Em was making the funniest statements. She was pointing out a bug that was between the window and the screen. I said something about the bug and Rich informed me that it had been in the same spot for the past four days. Em heard him say this and said, "He's sleeping."

And then when I was reading them their bedtime stories, Allie pointed out the squirrel on Curious George's back in one of the pictures. Em said, "I'll get it off."

And what about the girls wearing these sunglasses?

Allie's picture is blurry because she kept moving her head around. I had been calling the girls superstars as I took their picture with the glasses. I was trying to take another picture of Allie, who had taken off into the front hall. Em went up to her and said, "Come on, Superstar, come one."

So darn cute! We haven't gotten to time outs yet but I did have to work with Ned to teach him not to bite. Lots of "nos" and pulling him off. It seems to be working.

Working on behavior with multiples is so challenging because one will do something they are not supposed to and then the rest of the troop encourages the behavior by laughing and cheering them on! Good luck. I love seeing pictures of your girls. They are so beautiful.
