How did you end up here?

If you google "spontaneous identical triplets" my blog is the fourth search result. It's number nine when Yahoo is searched. So what exactly does this mean? It means that many internet users make their way here when searching terms that may or may not have anything to do with this blog. I thought it would be fun to share some recent search terms and answer some question that have been asked.

Are identical triplets always the same length at birth?

No, identical triplets are not always the same length at birth. My girls were very close though - 18", 17 1/2" and 18 1/8". Some identicals suffer from twin-to-twin transfusion as a result of sharing a placenta and can be very different in size at birth.

How to make identical triplets babies

Well, you can't really make identical triplets - they just sort of happen. I'm not sure medical professionals understand why some woman have weak eggs but those weak eggs are the ones that result in identical multiples.

Why do eggs split triplets

From what I've been told by doctors, no one really knows why eggs split to form triplets. I have a few of my own theories though.

How identical triplets?

Not a complete question so I can't answer.

Identical triplets statistics

I've seen a wide range of statistics in relation to the odds of giving birth to identical triplets. My favorite and the one that I often quote to strangers is one in a million. (Uh, as a follow up to my post earlier this week, I suppose this answers my question. We are unique. In that case, where is my TLC show?)

There are the always the usual suspects:

This one caught my eye:

Triplets spina bifida

Is there someone else out there who has triplets and one or more of them have spina bifida? I would love to hear from you!

And because I pretend to be a photographer:

Beautiful arty photos
Cute pictures of umbrellas
White umbrellas for photo shoots

And because I pretend to be a runner:

And one of my favorites:

I find it fascinating to look at what people are searching to find my blog. I must say, it was a bit depressing to read someone landed at my page by searching "I hate my life". Hmmmmm.

I lurk on the multiples board on the bump and clicked on it from one of your posts and have followed it since. Your girls are beautiful!

That was a fun read! Since the umbrellas came up in your search questions... perhaps you can explain the name of the blog? I'm pretty sure I've read all of your entries since I found your blog, but if I missed it, feel free to link away! :)

I have been wanting to comment here for a few weeks because your blog and what I'll comment here kind of blows my mind. I just haven't because I've never been on a blog before (I know... I know... lame.) But I am 20 weeks pregnant with spontaneous identical triplets. One has meningocele and possible hydrocephalus (to which I say "possible?? figure it out already!) Anyway, hello officially.

Sarah, National Geographic had this special episode of their 'In the Womb' series on Identical twins. It was very interesting. You might like it for those endless questions

Oh man, you've totally just inspired me to go see what search terms people use to find my blog...

Okay, I'm going to respond to most of the comments here - so it may be long.

Sally - that is depressing. I haven't seen any stillbirth searches lately but they always make my heart stop for a few seconds.

Gossamer Wings - nice to meet you!

BreezieGirl - I think I put up a new post tonight to explain it. I'm sure you're not the only one with that question!

Michele Nicole - OMG! I have always wanted to find someone else with our situation. I linked over and you have a blog but nothing is there. Do you plan to blog? I would love to follow and give advice based upon what we experienced. Can they just not see the extra fluid in the brain? That may be a good sign as some of those babies don't need to be shunted.

Jacinta - that was a great show. We find it amazing that a lot is still unknown. Like egg splitting - I wasn't old enough to fall into the "older mother" category. It was just random.

Helen - check it out. If there's anything funny, you should do a post - LOL.

I can't remember if I got here through the Bump or some one else's blog. I read your posts every day. I love the way you write and love, love your pictures. You little girls are adorable.

Yes, they said they can't see it but it is possible, and we should be able to see or not see during next weeks ultrasound. Fingers crossed & prayers/good vibes sent out :) I do plan to blog, I may start it in two weeks (I'm still in school, I have four classes this spring, and all the other craziness of an unplanned [that's right...unplanned] triplet pregnancy! LOL). So stay tuned!

I don't remember how I found your blog, but I love it! I am the mom to surviving triplets. We lost one of our identical boys to complication of TTTS.

Your girls are beautiful and you are amazing parents!
