Turkey Day, Black Friday and Sleepy Saturday Recap

As I was uploading pictures from our camera to my laptop on Thursday, I found these two. Apparently taken by Grammy to capture the girls "playing" together. These group hugs are becoming more frequent.

Allie's the one with the hat on, Anna's in the middle and Em is wearing the monkey jammies. Monkey jammies for a monkey baby.

It's amazing how life has changed from a year ago. It was easy to judge the difference on Thursday because Rich and I remember Thanksgiving last year. Vividly. The girls were taking three scheduled "naps" a day. Sometimes these "naps" only lasted for 20 minutes. Oh, I still remember the mornings when I would sit down with my breakfast only to hear a baby start crying before I could even take a bite.
.
A year ago, the girls had just started eating baby cereal. This year, they sat in their high chairs and ate dinner with us. Eating dinner, according to them, includes throwing food, bowls, spoons and sippies on the floor. Oh, well. I'm sure I'll look back in time next year and think that this year was hard.
.
We decided to have dinner at our house this year to make it a little bit easier. The girls warmed up to Aunt Edel fairly quickly. She was smart and brought books for the girls. Uncle Pat, on the other hand, brought nothing and was given the evil eye by all three girls. I think Allie eventually recovered but she almost had a nervous breakdown after Uncle Pat chased her down and picked her up. Poor baby. Aunt Molly says he's better with older kids. He says that I've kept the girls locked up for so long that they have become unable to socialize. Well, at least they aren't sick.
.
Rich and I both had to work on Black Friday. I was able to sneak out of work in the early afternoon. (Note to self: When the train schedules are updated, pick up a new schedule.) I had to run down the platform to catch the train which was pretty pathetic. My mind still thinks that I can run like I did 4 years ago. I REALLY need to get on that treadmill again. But I'm too tired.
.
So speaking of being tired, Em was up for about two hours last night. I've been asking Rich to go in there when she starts screaming in the middle of the night because she's not as attached to him and most likely won't freak out if she's not completely asleep when he leaves the room. She's definitely still teething. I feel bad that Rich was up with her. I was awake the whole time. Rich and I have this thing where if one of us is up with a baby, the other can't sleep.
.
I did remind Rich of the months (March through July, specifically) when I was the one who had to get up to take care of Em in the middle of the night. She would SCREAM if she saw Rich or Grammy. I'm sure glad she's over THAT phase.
.
I did manage to fit some holiday shopping in later today. I also needed to pick up some onesies for the girls seeing that I packed up a bunch of size 6-9 months ones that they were still wearing. I couldn't resist buying them the cutest little outfits: blue jean overalls with apple themed onesies. I was definitely meant to be a girl mommy. Baby boy clothes are so blah to me.
.
Okay, I'm signing off to get to bed early. Hopefully the girls will sleep through the night tonight. Oh, we did some rearranging of furniture in their room and I'm hoping that it doesn't disturb their sleeping. *Yawn*
