Most of my childhood summers included a trip to my grandparents' house in Michigan, which is located in a suburb of Detroit.  There were no lake visits or nature adventures but it was simply time spent being a kid, running through their yard and refusing to eat vegetables.  I've been incredibly lucky to have had my grandparents in my life for so long that I was able to share this summer tradition with my own children.  Except for the vegetable part.  For the first part of our trip this summer, we stayed with my grandmother as we awaited Rich's arrival.

More Michigan to come, including a trip "up north."

Yay Michigan! Ah, mind giving me the main cross streets of that amazing-looking playground? My folks are in the Mt. Clemens area. Always happy to find a good playground!

Did I spot photos from Greenfield Village? My grandmother and a lot of extended family also live in the Detroit area. We went to visit last fall for some great apple/pumpkin picking with our (then) 2 year old.

That playground is at Stony Creek. The kids really like it there.
