Creativity will take you places...
I'm not sure exactly how it began but last month, the girls transformed an empty box and then storage containers into desks.
They set up an office one day and proceeded to "work." When I asked what they were working on, they really didn't know. And then they had to have a snack break. And then Allie called a meeting.
Me: "So... what do you do at work?"
Them: "We eat and go to meetings."
Me: "Wow! That's it? I wished I worked at a place like that." (Although, there are some days that all I do at work is eat and go to meetings.)
They also took turns making announcements.
"Emily, please report to the front office."
The other night Emily and Allie set up desks in their rooms. I am seeing what has been a somewhat slow transition into bedrooms being used as "alone time" spaces. Rich and I have discussed squeezing real desks into their rooms at some point in time. Until then...

A few weeks ago, I DVRed the new American Girl movie. We all kind of forgot about it for a few days and then one day when I was home with the girls, I told them they could watch it at some point during the day. I was in the kitchen and the laundry room while they were playing in the family room. They came to tell me that they had set up a movie theater and were ready to watch the movie.

These pictures made me laugh out loud!!!! My favorite is the one with the girl's back to the camera!
I love that they invited all their buddies to the movie. The girls are very creative.
It is really cool that you photograph all these little moments that capture life in your house right now.
Everything about this post is so, so sweet. I love your playroom. Is it a bedroom or another room in the house? I'm just starting to convert our dining room into a playroom for my 6-month-old.
Katie - The playroom was originally the dining room. We made part of the family room the dining room since we don't have an eat-in kitchen.
They are too stinking cute.
I love pictures like these of kids being creative! I think they're priceless to look back on.
