Grammy, what's a trademark?

The girls have enjoyed creating their own books for awhile now.  They'll gather up some paper, ask an adult to staple it together and then work independently.  Apparently, they discovered the "TM" trademark symbol on some on their real books and asked Grammy what it meant.  It was kind of funny to arrive home from work and have my five year olds explain trademarks to me.  Allie and Emily added  "TM" to the books they had been working on.

Emily's The Little Chick

These books were made back in March.  Even though they misspell words, I can still tell what they were attempting to write, which is all part of the learning to read/write process.  And I don't know if the I Can Read book series is trademarked but Emily clearly ripped off that idea.

I laughed pretty hard at the "I Can Read" on Emily's book. Impressively observant girls you have there :) My oldest, 9, still writes her own books and I love to read them; and now one of my littles, 5, writes her own too. No words yet, but lovely picture books.

Oh, this is great!!! I love seeing how little ones observe the world around them and incorporate it into their play. Bravo, Girls!

Love it!! Reminds me of my cousin who, upon learning about money and selling things, would put a price on all of his artwork. He was about the same age as your girls when he started and he eventually got his entire class to do it too! I'm often impressed, and humored, at what kids observe :)
