Just. Cannot. Focus.

I tried to finish my photography post last night but I couldn't turn my focus away from the news.  As you can probably imagine, today was not any better.  It was just so hard to pull away from the news updates.  In case you're wondering, the lockdown of the city and surrounding area had little impact on us.  Well, there was an emotional impact, of course.  I actually had no idea what was going on until my employer called a bit after 7:00 this morning with an automated message that was a bit convoluted.      Rich had just left to go for a run and the girls and I were still upstairs.  (He takes a later morning train when he doesn't have to commute with me.)  I rushed downstairs, fired up my laptop and (GASP) could not believe what I was reading.  Today was my scheduled day at home and Rich's office did not open.  The shut down of the city was unprecedented.

I can't even focus on this post as we are still watching live news coverage.  I'm glad that the residents of Watertown will be able to sleep tonight and that no one else has been injured.  Maybe now there will be answers...

They are calling this the day Boston became a ghost town. I am glad they shut down the city it was the safe thing to do. However, I was suppose to have started hunting a new place to live yesterday (I have to move by May 20th but really want to be out by the 6th). However, I can't seem to focus on that task and the rental market is tight here...

I don't live anywhere near MA but I was glued to my television for four hours this evening. I was thinking about you and Rich....hopeful that you were both home and not in the city. The way everything was shut down was unreal....but in the long run worked out to keep larger numbers of people safe and to find the suspect. Many praises for the safety of you and your family.

I hope everything gets better soon and you can have your normal life back. This has brought stress to people, that is just unneeded. Hope the girls are doing okay though out all of this madness.

My husband and I were glued to the TV as well. Hopefully things return to normal soon.

I still can't believe all of this went on. I'm outside of Watertown, but my mother grew up there and taught there her whole career. Hopefully answers start coming soon.

Did rich get a job? You said "his office". How did I miss that?
