- Saturday - birthday party from 1:00 to 3:00 for one of Anna's classmates
- Sunday - Evelyn's christening at 1:30 with party afterwards
Tentative plans
- A trip to the beach? Saturday looks like the best (and maybe only) beach day in terms of weather. Drive to Grammy and Papa's right after the birthday party? Bring the girls' pajamas with us. Oh, crap! High tide should hit around 4:00 PM. The beach will be under water.
- Monday at home. I just want a day without plans.
Best laid plans.
After our horrible night of sleep Thursday due to vaccination shots, the girls slept like logs Friday night. We all did. By 6:45 Saturday morning, we had both Allie and Em in our bed. I was snuggling with them, trying to keep them quiet so that Anna would hopefully sleep for as long as she needed without being awakened.
7:30 AM
Emily - "My tummy hurts."
Me - "Do you have to go to the bathroom?"
Emily - "No."
Me - "Are you hungry?"
Emily - "No."
Emily - "I think I'm going to throw up."
And throw up she did. It was just water and I managed to place her in front of the toilet before she started. Please be a fluke like Allie the other night. Please be a fluke.
Poor baby threw up every 20-30 minutes for the next 4 hours.
We obviously canceled our beach plans and I had to break the news to Em that she couldn't go to the birthday party. She was terribly upset and I felt so bad. She stopped throwing up about an hour before Rich left with The A Team but there was no way I was bringing her to that party. Shortly after they left, she was able to nibble on some crackers and drink some juice. I was a bit surprised at how quickly she perked up. By dinner, she was just about back to normal.
I honestly think that the vaccinations on Thursday caused the vomiting and I'm usually not one to blame odd stuff on vaccinations. Fevers and grumpiness? Yes. Sudden and frequent vomiting? Um? No? I really don't know. Aside from Allie throwing up once Thursday night and Anna throwing up once Wednesday night (I think that was motion sickness) no one has been sick. Because of how quickly she recovered and how odd the whole thing was, we all went to my niece's christening on Sunday. (I wouldn't have brought her if I thought she was contagious and I kept her away from the baby.)
The girls escorting their cousin, Maggie, out of the church.
Emily became quite attached to this cat she found in Maggie's playroom. She carried it around for at least an hour and even gave it (pretend) some of her lemonade.
Monday, Memorial Day, found us on the beach for a few slightly chilly hours. Photos later...

The photos of Emily sick are so sad. She looks like she was just out of her element. Obviously she perked back up with the rest of the pictures! Love the little kitty, too cute!

Ughh vaccinations! I can't believe how old your girls look in that picture with Maggie. Maybe it's the fact they're posing with a younger girl, but gosh they look so grown up!
Sounds like the puke bug that's been going around the area. Non-stop puking for 4-6 hours and then feeling completely fine after 24 hours. I have quite a few friends who have been dealing with this.
The last picture of Emily with the cat is so sweet!!!
I love that you don't dress your girls in the same clothes. I am a twin and it drives me bonkers when parents do this. Each little lady with her own personality!
