What the girls are saying

So after Anna's appointment and Allie and Em's day with Grammy at the beach two weeks ago, I asked (that night) the girls what their favorite part of the day was. Here are their responses:

Anna - Getting my [hospital ID] bracelet at the doctor's.
Allie - Playing with the Cinderella set [at Grammy's.]
Emily - The part where you gave me a hug. (Yes, that one loves to tug on the heartstrings.)

The girls have a decent vocabulary, in my opinion, but I have noticed them messing up a few new words as of late.

There's making instead of bacon. "Papa had some making with his pancakes."

Bladder instead of blabber. "Stop being a bladder." I found this one to be extra funny because when I asked them to define it, they did a good job at defining a blabber (a tattletale) but still used the word bladder.

Consolation instead of graduation. This one is all Allie. We saw family last weekend and Allie kept making statements such as, "We saw her at Jackie's consolation party," or "Remember we did that at Jackie's consolation party." I guess you need to be consoled when you graduate from high school.

I'll end with a cute story from this past weekend. I brought Allie and Em to the mall with me (yeah, not the best idea) while Anna ran errands with Rich. On the drive there, Emily said, "I bet I know what Grammy is doing. She's buying sewing stuff because she loves to sew just like you do, Mommy." I asked them both if they wanted me to teach them to sew when they got older. They both enthusiastically replied with a YES and then Allie added, "Well, I already know how to drive."

"Really? How do you know how to drive?"

"I watched Daddy."

I always enjoy reading your blog. Not only are your photos beautiful, but I love listening to your life's stories. It's refreshing to see a husband and wife so dedicated not only to each other, but to their children as well. You're doing a fantastic job...not only with the girls but with the blog too. Keep up the good work :)

Her hee! I love the stuff kids say at this age, it kills me. Oliver reprimanded me this morning for not saying "good morning" when I went to get them up. :)

Those are really cute word errors. The "making" for bacon cracks me up because one of my girls calls it "macon".

Making and pancakes...too cute. Guess the funny makes up for the constant questions.
