Mommy, can we have a baby brother?

So, yeah, the girls finally asked for a baby sibling. I was a bit surprised at first because they have never expressed any interest in having a baby sibling. They like babies but they have had to share me with same age siblings their entire lives and I always thought that they somehow understood that adding a baby to the mix would take me away from them. But babies are fun.

The question came while they were entertaining their baby cousin Charlie one morning. I told them that no, unfortunately, they could not have a baby brother. I'm sure the novelty would wear off fairly quickly anyway and for now, they have many baby cousins (and more on the way) to play with.

Here's a mini photo shoot with Anna holding Charlie. (Don did comment that she looks n.a.k.e.d but rest assured, she is wearing something.)

I have to post all four photos because I love them all and couldn't pick a favorite.

Whenever Charlie would grab at Anna or pull her hair, Anna would giggle and ask, "What is he doing?"

After Em would play with Charlie, she would smell her hands and then say, "Can I have a smelly wipey? My hands smell like baby." Smelly wipey refers to some antibacterial wipes we keep in the van for quick clean-up of little faces and hands.

Since our return from vacation, the girls have invented a new play game called Charlie and Clive. One of the girls picks out two dolls (Charlie and Clive) and then they usually argue over who is going to be Aunt Amelia before they begin play parenting.

HA!!! Tell them to be careful what they wish for... mine have a baby brother and I'd say most of the time they wish they didn't!!! I love him to pieces, but he is a TOTAL boy and TOTAL hand full!!!
