It's no wonder I can't get anything done!

So my project list is about a mile long right now and the only time I have to work on anything is during the weekends but weekends are usually so busy that I can never get anything done. Plus, I usually have a toddler on my heels saying, "Mommy hold me. Mommy carry me." It's a vicious cycle.

Here's a recap of the main events from this past weekend. It's no wonder I'm exhausted and nothing has been crossed off of my To-Do List!

Gymnastics

The girls' gymnastics class was moved to Saturday this past week which was absolutely fantastic because Rich and I love, love, love bringing them.

They have so much fun and really enjoy their time running around. And I am totally confessing that I was worn out after that class.

Allie loves singing along with the songs during stretch time.

Anna is a bit unsure.

Here are the girls waiting patiently in line to have their hands stamped. They had been holding hands but, of course, dropped them right before I took the picture.

The House That You Lived In When You Were A Baby

The first house that Rich and I lived in is now awaiting either new owners or new tenants. Rich kind of took the words right out of my mouth regarding that house in a recent blog post. You can read that here.

We spent some time there this weekend checking things out. Reminiscing. Seeing what needs to be cleaned up or repaired. The girls loved running around and exploring. I personally think that it would make a fantastic photography studio. What do you think?

Yeah, so I will have a post up about that later. {Sigh} Can I dream about having studio space?

Naps

We suspect that Anna's night time drama is related to her just being overtired. I feel like she missed out on some sleep last weekend and then she was up kind of early every day last week. One afternoon this past weekend, I took her upstairs to my room, turned the fan on and we napped. Oh, how sweet that nap was. I could have slept for the rest of the day.

Anna still threw a fit at bedtime. {Sigh.}

Free Ice Cream

Saturday was free ice cream day at Friendly's and we decided to check it out. If it was too crowded, the local joint was selling soft serve cones for a dollar each as an alternative. We must have hit it just right because there was no line. Sweetness! And the girls were actually extremely well behaved. Well, I think that was due in part to being hungry as they didn't really have a proper lunch.

Lesson learned: Make sure your kids are starving before you go to a restaurant.

Balloons for Big Sister Abbey

We brought the girls to the store and had each one pick out a birthday balloon to leave for Abbey. I thought that there would be major meltdowns at the thought of leaving the balloons at the cemetery but the girls handled it very well. Allie was crying a bit because she was afraid that her balloon was going to fly away. I was extremely proud of them.

Play

We always find time for outdoor play when the weather is nice.

Toddler Manicures & Pedicures

I finally managed to get my toenails painted for the first time this year (I know, it should have been done months ago) and once Allie saw that I had used the purple that she had picked out, she wanted hers painted too. I ended giving all three of them manicures and pedicures. Even Anna!!! That child has never let me paint her nails before and can I tell you how much she loved it.

I allowed them to pick out whatever colors they wanted. Here were their choices:

Allie

Fingers - Peas & Q's (Nicole by OPI)

Toes - Virtuous Violet (Nicole by OPI)

Anna

Fingers - Mall Queen Mauve (Nicole by OPI)

Toes - Mall Queen Mauve (Nicole by OPI)

Emily

Toes - Black Tie Optional (OPI)

Shopping

What weekend is complete without an excursion to Target? Certainly not ours.

5K Road Race

And last but certainly not least, Rich and I ran another 5K road race. With the girls. It was, um, interesting. Yes, that's a good word for it. I am working on a race report post to detail that fun experience. Look for it soon. Very, very soon. If you are new to the wonderful world of running, I plan to have some race tips in there so you might want to check it out.

The picture of them standing in line to get their hands stamped is just pure sweetness. I love the bubble photo too ... the girls just keeping getting cuter if that's possible! I bet the mani/pedi's were fun and glad you were able to get yours done too ... it feels so good doesn't it?

I just now read Rich's post about the house - a beautiful post that brought me to tears.
