Preschool Interview

We are still in the middle of the preschool process. The first step is to see if Anna will be accepted as having a disability. If not, we will attempt to enroll the girls as peer models. I often ask the girls questions that I have been told are quite common at preschool interviews. Here is part of my interview with Anna last night. Keep in mind that she has molars coming in and had been awake for more than twelve hours with no nap. And was in her bed.

Mommy: "What's your name?"
Anna: "Anna"

Mommy: "What's your last name?"
Anna: "Anna CorrectLastName"

Mommy: "What's your middle name?"
Anna: "Emmie"
Incorrect

Mommy: "Where do you live?"
Anna: "Correct Town"
She usually gives me the correct street name but then says, "Sesame Street," when I ask her for the town.

Mommy: "What is your Mommy's name?"
Anna: "Sarah"

Mommy: "What is your Daddy's name?"
Anna: "Richard"

Mommy: "What is Grammy's name?"
Anna: (After much thought) "Grammy"

Mommy: "What flies in the sky?"
Anna: "A bird"

Mommy: "What runs in the yard?"
Anna: "A doggy"

Mommy: "What swims in the water?"
Anna: "A dolphin"

Mommy: "What color is the sky?"
Anna: "Blue"

Mommy: "What color is the grass?"
Anna: "Green"

Mommy: "What color are your jammies?"
Anna: "Purple"
Correct

Mommy: "Why don't you count for me?"
Anna: "1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7"
Mommy: "Okay, okay. Why don't you say your ABCs?"
Anna: "A B C D E F G....."
Mommy: "Okay, okay. Why don't you show me where your toes are?"
Anna: "Right here."

I stopped there because she usually does really well with that part of the "interview." Our meeting with the school therapists should be interesting.
