The Horsey Party

We managed to cram a day and a half of activities into today. It was more than obvious come bed time that the girls were beyond exhausted. Allie was actually have some sort of breakdown in her crib. Rich went up to their room and returned less than 10 minutes later to tell me that they were all asleep. What? That doesn't happen too often around here. We, unfortunately, had to skip nap today as we were on the road and the girls took mini-naps in the car. By the time we returned home, it was well past naptime.

My sister-in-law was holding a birthday party for two of her girls, my girls' cousins. I hemmed and hawed about attending as I thought the carousel place would be open to the public during the party and I didn't know if I could deal with watching my three amongst strangers, a moving carousel and a concrete floor. I'm so glad that we went because the girls at a blast! And as it turned out, the party was considered a private function and we had the carousel to ourselves.

Here's a picture of the girls shortly before we hit the road this morning. Isn't it amazing, funny, odd, scary to look at your children and see yourself?

The girls LOVE their litle cousin, Gracie. That's Allie on the far right trying to climb onto the chair with the snacks.

Anna and Gracie holding hands.

The girls were a little uncertain of the carousel at first. We explained to them beforehand how much fun it would be to ride the horses. The first few times around had the girls clinging to us but by the end, Em was picking out her horse, Allie wanted to walk around by herself and Anna was riding with Aunt Katie.

We saw a little bit of the world on the way home.

Upon returning home this afternoon, Rich took the girls for a run and then they played in the yard. We even took them for a quick walk in the Choo Choo Wagon after dinner.

Can you tell that they are all teething?

I wasn't able to take any pictures of the girls on the carousel so these are from Grammy.

That's me, Em and Lion. Please excuse my weird grin. There's Allie behind us.

Allie and Daddy.

The only good picture that Grammy had of Anna.

The best comment I received today came from the woman working the function. Upon learning that the girls were triplets, she said, "Wow, triplets! There must be a special place in Heaven for you."

Looks like awesome fun!
I'm impressed with myself for figuring out who was who in the first photo. (Confirmed later by the captions in the following photos, unless you changed their dresses between the first photo and the last. ;) ;))
