This and That
After this week, the girls still have four full weeks of school remaining for the year. It already feels like it's going to be a short summer. All the end of school events are creeping up on us - spring field trips, special class nights, fifth grade graduation. And let's not forget about the dance recital with 75,000 costumes changes in a few weeks either.
The girls are taking a spring tennis class which lasts only five weeks. It does make for a hectic evening as they have dance that afternoon. So on this particular day, we rush home from dance and have 35 minutes in which to change clothes and eat dinner. This means dinner needs to be prepared ahead time so I've been relying on easy pasta salads.
I haven't been taking as many photos as of late and there really isn't a reason why. I don't feel burnt out or anything. With normal day to day, I always feel in motion or caught up in what's going on and just don't think to take it out. That being said, I had my first newborn session yesterday and, oh my goodness, it was so different from photographing toddlers and little kids. They can't run away! Of course, this little guy decided he was going to stay awake almost the entire time.
And speaking of newborns, I wanted to share a baby gift I recently made.
In case you're wondering, they are huge Disney fans who make us look like non-Disney people. I had that plaid fabric and thought it would look cute as a tote bag, but it took me awhile to find an offsetting fabric. We filled the bag with goodies, some of which are pictured below. I think it's a cute way to make a gift a little bit more personal.
That Little Golden Book was one of the girls' favorites when they were younger. Of course, it needs to be read with a dramatic flair.
That's all I've got for tonight...

I LOVED that Little Golden Book when I was a kid as well! I think it's still in my moms attic in a box of "keeper" books from when I was a kid. Very cute tote bag, that's a great idea!
do you have a tutorial for the bag? I would love to make one! thanks :)
I don't have a tutorial for the bag but I do have to make Emily's dance bag. I'll try to take photos as I do it for a tutorial
Cute bag! Newborn sessions are among my favorites, even though they tend to have the most set up and equipment.
