DANCE

When the school year began back in September, I took a few photos of the girls before their first ballet class of the season.  I couldn't resist.  They looked so elegant and graceful.  Poised.  Each week, I found myself grabbing my camera and asking the girls to pose for photos.  In our home, "posing" often means freezing.  You're doing something I want a photo of, so don't move.  Without intending to, it appears I've picked up a personal photography project.  I've taken photos of the girls at their dance recitals in the past or dancing outside in the driveway but because I was working, I was never able to fully follow their dance journey throughout the year.  This year is different.  I'm home and not that the girls weren't into dance before, but this year dance is their only activity.  Between the three of them, we cover ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop.

Here's what the first four months of the dance year looked like through my lens . . .

Everyone is in tap and ballet. Emily is in hip hop with a friend and Allie is taking jazz.

I love every time one more of this series comes up on your site and in your Instagram feed :) The one with Dance on the wall/changing into tap shoes is maybe my favorite!
