School troubles.

Emily:  "Mommy, I have to tell you of my troubles today at school."

Mommy:  "Troubles?"

Emily:  "Yes.  I had two troubles today.  The next one is just terrible"  (I think she meant to say 'the second one' instead of 'the next one.')

Mommy:  "Okay, Emmy.  Why don't you come upstairs with me while I change."

Emily:  "Well, first my glue fell out of my glue stick."

Mommy:  "Oh.  Okay."

Emily:  "And then at snack time, the straw was missing from my juice box so my teacher haded to give me water.  At least I had something to drink."  (She drinks water all the time!)

Mommy:  "Well, those really aren't too terrible, sweetie.  There are other things that are much worse.  Like what if you had thrown up at school.  Or fallen down and knocked a tooth out."

Emily:  "Yeah.  Or if a person wearing a monster costume had eaten me."

I just laughed out loud! She's so funny, and she'll love looking at this in ten or so years :)

I totally laughed too. It's hard to keep a straight face when they say stuff like that.

Hahah... Wouldn't be nice if these were still our biggest worries of the day, a missing straw and falling glue. :-)

bahahaha...Hey, its right bothersome when that pesky glue bit falls out of it's stick. And, observing as a Sociology Major, if those are her big troubles then I'd say you and Rich are doing a heck of a job with them ;)

Such a cute conversation! Totally made my morning and gives perspective when we think we have terrible days :)

hahaha! I had a terrible start to the morning and reading this made it so much better. It's so nice to read how much you appreciate your blessings!

bwahahaha.

She's right. Being eaten by a PERSON wearing a costume is so much more disturbing than being eaten by just a monster. Funny girl.

Love it! I laughed so hard - she is going to love that you documented those conversations for her to enjoy when she is an adult - too cute :)

Next time I'm having a bad day I'm going to remember to be thankful that at least a person wearing a monster costume didn't eat me! :)

You have to admit, that monster thing would be pretty terrible! :)

You think us putting on the scary skeleton mask in the house and running after Emily and her sisters has anything to do with Emily saying that!? Ha!
