A mom of all girls

Hi, I'm Sarah and I absolutely love being a mom of all girls.

That's Allie, Anna and Emily. Identical triplets who will be five years old next week!

I have three younger brothers and while I appreciate how lucky I was to have playmates and partners in crime, I always wanted a sister. Brothers aren't interested in dolls or pretend dance classes or Barbies or fashion or hair or make-up or clothes. We spent a lot of time riding bikes, hiking in the woods and playing kickball, baseball and kick the can.

As a kid, I so badly wanted to take dance lessons but my parents signed me up for pee wee baseball instead and pee wee baseball in 1980 was played with a real baseball and boys. So as you can probably imagine, I signed my girls up for a dance class (tap and ballet) as soon as I possibly could.

And there's gymnastics too!

While I revel in our world of glittery shoes, hair accessories and princess dresses, my girls also enjoy t-ball (at home - they are too young to play for the town right now) and digging in the sandbox. And that's okay. I want them to be well-rounded and independent and strong.

Beautiful post! I was completely indifferent to the gender of children I had...I can say that confidently because, at the ~20-week ultrasound, I was interested to learn boys / girls, but afterwards, it was completely a feeling of "well, now I know", and that was it.

Still, it's so exciting to have little girls and see them experience things similar to what I experienced growing up. :)

Oh my gosh, tell me about it. I am the only girl of four too, although I am the 2nd youngest. I guess I've always wanted a sister, yet I also kind of like being the only girl. I've grown up in the country, and gotten used to having four boy cousins as practically our only neighbours. But that just makes time with my friends and with just my parents more special.
I love the last picture, by the way. Xox

I just stopped by from Kelly's corner. Your girls are absolutely adorable! I am a mom of 6 month old fraternal girls. People always say, "Better you than me." And I think to myslef, "Yes, I am glad its me and not you!" They just don't understand the joy of having multiples. I amagine triplets are challenging, but just as much of a blessing. I am happy I found your blog and look forward to reading more.
