I didn't detail out our entire day Saturday but let's just say that it was chock full of activity. I then went over to a friend's house to have dinner with a small group of friends. Unfortunately, because I knew that my kids would be awake at the crack of dawn, I had to leave somewhat early so that I could be home and in bed well before 11:00.
As predicted, the girls started waking up at 5:45 Sunday morning. (And yes, they do have room darkening shades under the curtains in their rooms.) Because Rich napped Saturday morning, I napped Sunday morning. Ah, sweet uninterrupted sleep.
We left the house around 11:00 to participate in a walk to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Rich's niece passed away from the disease at the age of 13 and Rich is a genetic carrier of CF. Our girls have a 50% chance of being carriers of the CF gene.
This is what happens when you wake up at 5:45 in the morning.

What you can't see behind me is the walking team, who apparently are frightening. Even though the girls know most of them. Who are are family!
We didn't walk the entire six miles because it probably would have taken 3 hours due to the crowds. The girls walked for a little bit but once we hit main streets, where we had to walk on the sidewalks, we made them ride in the stroller. There were just too many people and the streets weren't blocked off to traffic.
After we walked, we hung out for a bit and ate lunch.

We headed home where we had an hour and a half break (laundry) before we had to leave for a gymnastics birthday party. Although the birthday girl is in Allie's class, her mom invited Anna and Emily too which was very thoughtful.
The girls slept solid that night. Wear. Them. Out.

Just a few more days and I will stop bothering you for votes. I am still at number three but there are two sets of quads breathing down my neck.

Sarah, you're girls are just so darn cute! I think it's Emily, with the side pony? I love it, their hair is getting so long. My identical twin girls are going to be 2 a week from today and they don't have very much hair now, but I just can't wait to style it... I am sure when it's long and tangled and messy, I won't feel that way anymore ;) Do your girls ask to have their hair done a certain way? I know they are very particular when it comes to what they wear.
Are you guys in Seattle? We did the Seattle CF walk last Sunday as well!
Oh yes, the girls request to have certain hair styles. That's Allie with the side pony. Emily has been going thru a phase where she doesn't want anything in her hair at all.

Tha's great that you are involved in the CF walk. I work as an RN in a pulmonary clinic and we see so many CF kiddos, and unfortunately have seen many pass. It is a horrible disease that needs a cure!!
