Snapshots of my life

As I walk through the throngs of commuters, I can't help but wonder.

Does anyone wonder why I have brightly colored sheets of construction paper sticking out of my bag?

Does anyone wonder why there is a Dora sticker stuck to the side of my cosmetic pouch, which is perched precariously at the top of my overstuffed bag?

Are there any stickers on my coat? Specifically on my backside? (There was a smily face sticker incident once. I haven't forgotten.)

******

It's almost bedtime and the girls are playing. Screaming. Shrieking. Playing. Apparently, they do not understand the concept of indoor voices. Everyone heads upstairs for baths and the loudness follows.

Mommy: "Let's play the quiet game, okay? You need to close your mouth like this. {Mommy presses her mouth shut.} And whoever can stay quiet for the longest gets a penny. Okay? That means no talking."

One second.

Two seconds.

Allie: "YUMMY. YUMMY."

Half a second.

Anna: {Hysterical laughter.}

Emily: {Hysterical laughter.}

Mommy: {Sigh.}

******

Allie is lounging on my bed watching television while I get ready for work. Anna is still asleep in her room and Emily went back to her bed "to take a nap." I have locked myself in the bathroom for a few minutes of privacy. I hear little footsteps pad into the room.

Allie announces, "Mommy, Anna's here."

Pause.

She continues. "Wait, are you Anna or Emmy?"

"I'm Emmy!"

"Oh."

I loved your blog. I have been maintaining a blog for my baby girl as well. http://rhearajan.com. I'm sure someday when our kids grow up, they'll really appreciate this small thing that we are doing for them, what say!

Wow, she mistook her sister? That is truly something! I guess it's only natural that they get confused sometimes as well but I wonder how it feels, to have two sisters that look that much the same - all the while knowing you look alike, too!

great snapshots of life. My husband apparently went shopping with a sticker on his face last week. Wish I could have seen that.

I was wondering, what is your girls' take on their being identical? I know how much effort you put into individuality, but that last scene made me think about it. Plus, it's very cute.

My twins are complete opposites - one has brown hair/eyes, the other blond/blue. At 2.75, they know they look different. When they speak of twins, it is to compare two similar things, like they are both wearing animal shirts (different ones, but animals) so their shirts are twins or their blankets are twins, because they are the same, but they never call themselves twins. Just wondering.
