While Mommy is busy

I needed to have the house picked up yesterday morning and I find that the girls are usually better at entertaining themselves if the gates are open and they have free range of the first floor of the house instead of being locked down in the family room.

All three became involved in some sort of hide and seek game involving the curtains to my deck doors. What concerns me about this game is that they wrap themselves in the curtain and sometimes bounce off of the glass doors.

The game yesterday evolved into all three lining up at the curtains

and then running off together to return to the curtains after completing a lap.

It was cute until Allie and Em bumped heads, leaving a bruise right in the middle of Em's forehead. That ended that game.

UPS then delivered my Gymboree package and I proceeded to open it to check that all of the items and sizes were correct. (I have had a screw up before.) I walked back into the family room to hear Allie say, "Mommy, look at us. We're in here."

They had pulled aside the Superyard gate piece and were in with the tree. When Rich set up the Superyard like that around the tree, I didn't even blink an eye. The girls never really mess around with the gates so I never thought that they would do that. You should have seen the look on Allie's face. She knew that they shouldn't be in there but she was so proud of herself. Interestingly enough, Anna didn't follow them.

So for the rest of the day whenever I left the family room and returned, I was bound to find some version of this.

And yes, they stayed in their jammies all day.

My main concerns were the ornaments with the little metal hooks and the lights. They kept squeezing the bulbs. We moved the gate around last night and no break in attempts were made today.

I haven't commented in a long time, but thought I would here. I don't know what to do about the light bulbs, but we tied ribbon through all our ornaments with hooks. Less sharp things to worry about that way. Also, we used the unbreakable balls and will until our youngest is old enough not to mess with the tree. It just means a couple of years without my favorite breakable ornaments. I hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas!

Nothing better than being in jammies all day!

Your pictures (and your girls) are always so breathtaking. I love to look at them.

I love jammie day! I just started following your blog and love those sweet little girls. You take amazing pictures!

I have quads - three girls and a boy, so it's fun to see your girls who are a little bit older than mine.

Cute jams!
