Bargain Shopping

There were two men walking in front of me as I was schlepping to my car from the train last Monday night. One was saying how they had gone over to the outlet mall during the weekend and the other asked if there were any good sales. They went on to discuss how it really is like a normal mall and that sometimes you can find a good deal on the clearance racks. I was so tempted to tap one of them on the shoulder and tell him that they think that way because 1. they are men and 2. because they obviously know nothing about bargain shopping.

Okay, so here are my bargain purchases from the Fourth of July sales...

I had a coupon for 20% off my purchase of $50 or more at Carters. Grammy and I combined our purchases so that we easily hit that $50 without having to buy more than we wanted to.

These little ballet shirts are my absolute favorite and were the only two left in the store. One is size 2T and one is 3T. I only paid $1.58 each! And believe me when I tell you that I scoured the store to see if I could any more.

I also picked up these shirts in size 3T for next summer for $3.19 each. (Gasp - they don't match!)

These cute sweaters are from Children's Place and cost $2.63 each.

And our last stop was at Baby Gap. I had a $5 coupon that was only good that weekend and burning a hole in my pocket. These cute tops in size 3T were scored for $2.31 each. (With their blonde hair, the girls look really good in brown.)

And now the accountant in me must tell you what my total savings were from original cost.

Ballet tops - Savings of 89%
Carter summer tops - Savings of 80%
CP sweaters - Savings of 82%
Gap tops - Savings of 85%

I am going to employ you as my personal shopper for this baby! And he's a boy, so it will be something different for you! You just seem to have so much cheap, cute stuff in the States.

Kudos to you for having the patience to bargain shop! You got some great deals. I prefer to buy everything I want no matter what the price and then I sell everything once the kids grow out of it. Works out good for us. I usually pay about half price or less for stuff that way.
