My parents didn't have a lot of $$$ and the costumes and shoes were expensive. They could have made it happen, but they didn't and I am still angry. I'd love to find an adult class. You rock!JENhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18357044911025475893noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7707332630639933436.post-2930880405106869722018-02-01T16:56:41.076-05:002018-02-01T16:56:41.076-05:00This post makes me happy! I've done ballet for five years now, and tried modern, and I am now trying Irish. I'm even getting to do pointe, which was a dream of mine I never thought would come true! I love the adults that come together of all shapes and sizes and abilities. The teachers are wonderful with regard to expectations (I.e., we won't be professionals, but we do the best we can!) As a kid, I had no clue that I'd be able to learn dance as an adult. I'm so glad you're trying, Sarah! (P.s. I so very much love the photos and clips of your girls dancing!)michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10201789520187812520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7707332630639933436.post-92003357321415911922018-01-31T13:37:13.201-05:002018-01-31T13:37:13.201-05:00I love this - congrats on your first class! I took a few tap and jazz classes last year for the first time in several years, it made me so happy. I need to do it more often.Bree at Clarity Definedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08096737995080439327noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7707332630639933436.post-49879862924696469142018-01-31T03:07:00.442-05:002018-01-31T03:07:00.442-05:00Correct - it was just the way it was in those days...Correct - it was just the way it was in those days. I'm 43 and same with me, except I did ballet and Spanish and modern dance.

Then I left school and all of that for 23 years. Four years ago I took up Spanish again and I've enjoyed the dancing but I'm reconsidering now as it's becoming too time-intensive (if I want to do exams and shows - which I don't) and money-intensive with my kids starting grade 3 now. Our school year runs Jan - Dec, so they've just started. As you well know, evenings are precious time.Marcia (123 blog)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15581613927187600748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7707332630639933436.post-7104108108459664312018-01-31T02:03:21.182-05:002018-01-31T02:03:21.182-05:00First, I just have to say that in your photo, it t...First, I just have to say that in your photo, it totally looks like the girls. They look so much like you!

Secondly, I teach adult dance. Well, age 9 through adulthood (different classes). It makes me happy to know you started taking dance! I am also an adult that takes dance (13 years now) and it's so much fun!BearikaBallerinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01657897405629411191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7707332630639933436.post-4655713271957088982018-01-30T18:49:19.045-05:002018-01-30T18:49:19.045-05:00Well, I wasn't terrified of my parents. They knew I wanted to dance at some point because I did end up with a pink leotard and I would dance with the neighborhood girls in the backyard. Cost was most likely a main factor in why we all played baseball (almost free) versus dance. Parenting changed as we grew older. A few years later and I was asking for a credit card number so I could buy NKOTB tickets. ;)Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09856102708963900512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7707332630639933436.post-66675461583084144592018-01-30T16:08:36.697-05:002018-01-30T16:08:36.697-05:00I totally see your girls when I look at that photo...I totally see your girls when I look at that photo. I had only ever taken 1 year of street dance when I was about 11. I am not flexible at all, like I can't touch my toes and always thought this disqualified me.
I loved the class. It was almost meditative - focusing on the counts, the movements, no option to think about anything else that was going on in my brain or worrying me. And no chit chat.
This inspires me to take another class. mimeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13942286385684484202noreply@blogger.com
