First "boyfriends"

Let's talk about first boyfriends.

Allie has mentioned one of her classmates, Adam, enough for us to realize that she actually likes a boy. That is kind of a big thing around here considering that I have heard, "We don't like boys," more times than I can count. Ironically enough, Adam's mommy just happens to be Anna's teacher, Miss L.

When Rich and I met with Anna's teacher and therapists a few weeks ago regarding her IEP, I mentioned the Allie/Adam thing to Miss L. She laughed and said that she was going to ask Adam about it. I told her how Allie had told us that Adam was her boyfriend.

The next week, when Grammy was picking the girls up at school, Miss L came out to the van and told Grammy that she thinks of Allie as her future daughter-in-law and how there is a big crush going on. Last night, we were talking to the girls about their birthday party. They know that we only invited the girls from their classrooms, not the boys. They don't quite understand that we had to do this because we can't have 50 kids at the party place. They think we did this because they don't like boys. Anyway, this is what Allie said to us. "We should invite one boy to the party. Adam."

Hopefully, someday Allie will read this and smile. I need to get a picture of them together.

And so as not to embarrass Allie, I'll show you all a picture of my first boyfriend.

His name is Jeffrey. Unfortunately, I don't remember Jeffrey at all. Thankfully, one of my parents wrote his name on the back of the picture. But we must have really liked each other because look, we had the same exact hair style! The best part of this picture (besides the leisure suit) is the expression on my face as I cling to Grammy. That is an Allie face.

This was my nursery school graduation celebration. I sang the "duck duck" song. Unfortunately, I was not Star Search material. And even more unfortunate, the girls appear to have inherited my singing ability.

LOVE IT! My oldest had her first serious love in kindergarten. Her teacher told us and the boy's parents to get the wedding invitations printed.

She had a huge crush in preschool as well. Now she is in 1st grade and there is a new boy. Fickleness at it's best.

As for my 2 year olds, no crushes yet, but then again, they aren't in the school setting yet.

I remember my first crush - Eric. He was everything to me. I still blush when his name is said and it's more than 30 years later.

Love this post! Greg D chased me around the cubbies in nursery school (aka, preschool) and stole a kiss. We're friends on FB now. :)

LOL!!! The girls look so much like you... it's uncanny! Lilly also has a boyfriend, Connor. Every day when we ask, "what did you do in school?" she tells us, "me and Connor read books/did a puzzle..." oy. haha
